OKP Deadline

For Oklahoma students planning to attend a college, university or career technology center after high school, receiving financial aid can be very important. The first step in applying for federal and state aid is to complete the FAFSA, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Oklahoma students should also take advantage of the Oklahoma’s Promise scholarship.

Oklahoma’s Promise offers qualified Oklahoma students an opportunity to earn a scholarship for college tuition. This year’s deadline to apply is July 1, 2024, so high school juniors hoping to apply for this scholarship need to make sure they have everything submitted before this date.

Oklahoma’s Promise allows eighth-, ninth-, 10th- and 11th-grade students from families meeting certain income requirements to earn a college or technology center tuition scholarship. Students must also meet academic and conduct requirements in high school.

The Oklahoma’s Promise scholarship is income-based and uses the students’ parents’ adjusted gross income (AGI) to determine if the student is eligible. The AGI of the student’s parent(s) must fall within one of the following categories:

  • $60,000 or less for parents with 1-2 dependent children
  • $70,000 or less for parents with 3-4 dependent children*
  • $80,000 or less for parents with 5 or more dependent children*

All students receiving the Oklahoma’s Promise scholarship will be required to submit a FAFSA to qualify for their funding. For a full list of FAQs about Oklahoma’s Promise, click here or visit okpromise.org.
